i am at the house of tyler's parents, which is country-elegant, full of antique furniture and all the modern niceties like ipods and laptops. also his mother has a strange obsession with roosters and they decorate every inch of the kitchen. it's cute in that kitchy kind of way, though if i ever resorted to that kind of decor i might have to get a lobotomy, i don't care how long i have to live in texas.
i like visiting with tyler's parents. we play games of scrabble and boggle and walk the dogs and tonight we made a cobbler with the dewberries we picked last week. it was a very good cobbler (i convinced his mother to use soymilk instead of cow's milk and nobody noticed) except the berries promptly turned my teeth and tongue a deep dark purple, more so than anyone elses. this happens anytime i drink red wine, causing me to look constantly like a lush, which i guess is close to accurate given my love for red wine and my refusal to give it up in favor of pearly whites. so yeah. now i am a purple stained sober girlfriend, clicking away in the little office of her boyfriend's father, getting ready to go to bed (we now get the privlege of sharing a room, but only because there are two twin beds in there, a la ricky and lucy) and i'm sure i will dream of roosters.
tomorrow we're going on a big outing to the wal-mart so tyler can get glasses adn i can call him a nerd, and possibly a bike rack for the minivan. which means i better hit the hay pronto.
