it's beginning to feel a lot like texas. temperatures climbing into the high 90's already, and it isn't even june yet, and we're not even in houston yet. i can only imagine what it will feel like when july offers us her sweaty palm...
we are moving in six days. most of our stuff is in storage. the house we are subletting is secured. seamus has been warned and has wagged his tail in that "i'm ready for whatever you got" kind of way, his way, which has earned him the alias of adventure dog. i finished up at the bookstore last saturday, only to swear up and down that i would be back in august. (i think i may be one of the first people they've ever had in the department that - gasp - reads!) we're going to visit tyler's parents tomorrow for a few days, which means we will most likely get to eat in restaurants. we picked gallons of berries last weekend and froze them to bring, in the hopes of coaxing his mom into baking pies with us. also they have cable, which we lack and don't much miss, though the looming prospect of comedy central and the history channel are both a bit alluring.
so we are in limbo right now, packing odds and ends and trying to stay cool. we're going to build kites today and fly them at the park. we're going to hang out in the library and write emails in air-conditioned splendor. we got free passes to the movie theater and might check out the new star wars flick, despite the fact that i had a dream in which natalie portman, topless, with a shaved head and in rollerskates and daisy dukes, successfully stole my boyfriend right from under my nose (but i woke up with his arms around me, so ha! i win, natalie!).
yes, yes, yes. i will try to update more often then every three weeks. and since the library is the only place with the aforementioned air-conditioning, i would go so far as to say you could count on it.
mua!
