i realize i hardly write about what i do everyday, and so here it is, a play by play of my day.
woke up at 8:00 am. walked seamus around the block. he yawned. i yawned. he pissed and shat. lovely.
ate a big bowl of shredded wheat and bran with soymilk and drank coffee. woke up tyler, said good morning and good bye, and went to work.
at work i alphabatized and shifted the business section. i made new labels for the computer books. i helped people find things. then i went to lunch.
tyler and i had coupons to quiznos, so he treated me - a belated valentine in honor of the fact that we don't celebrate commercial holidays even though i secretly wanted a flower. quiznos will have to do. we wandered around a party store. i went back to work.
i pulled old poetry books and got caught up in anne sexton. i ate some cold french fries. i answered phones, ordered books, and led customers around the store.
at five, i clocked out and came home. walked seamus again. two dogs were in a front yard and ran across the street despite their owners shrill yells, nearly getting run over by a truck. the dogs jumped on each other and as the two wayward ones were dragged away i apologized for nearly causing a three dog pile up even though mine was the one on the leash.
i ate spanish animal crackers. "animalitos." no difference from the american ones except i can't tell what is what. i thought about lifting my weights and decided against it. i made the bed, looked at the clock, wondered where everyone was. i ate another cracker and checked my email. some happy valentines i didn't get yesterday, including a sweet one from tyler, which works towards his redemption for the lack of a single daisy.
and now the weather is gorgeous, i think i'll make angel hair pasta, and i think ella is going to call tonight. maybe i'll read another harry potter book (i'm up to number 4). i should probably work on that novel i'm writing. and what about those damn weights? really, they're only five pounds. surely i can manage five pounds.
i'll probably just finish the bottle of wine instead.
so that's a day in the life of chrissy.
works for me.
